2024 Better Conversations Calendar (Digital / Printable)
🌎🌍🌏 Bonjour, hola, and こんにちは, my international friends! I’ve heard from many of my international readers and subscribers that shipping costs/timelines and customs tariffs are a headache, so I’ve made the Better Conversations calendar available for you as a DIY that you can print and bind locally.
📅 About the calendar: Get a full year of daily conversation starters to spark authentic conversation and deeper connection with friends, at work, in your relationship, and in all parts of your life. Each month offers fresh alternatives to the typical questions you hear all day (e.g. how are you, where are you from, how was school or work today, what did you do this weekend, etc). Bring new life to your conversations! You’ll boost your social skills AND your reputation as a sparkling conversationalist.
✨ Written and illustrated by moi, Kat Vellos.
This is a perfect side dish for We Should Get Together or the Connection Jet Pack.
💻 Note: This is a digital product that you can have printed and bound at a local copy shop (or do-it-yourself at home if you’re the crafty type). After completing checkout, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to download the PDF file which expires after a few hours. This file is just for your personal use = Unauthorized redistribution of the file is prohibited because it hurts my business; violators will be attacked by hungry dragons. 🔥🐉
❤️ If you know anyone who wants their own copies of this calendar, please tell them: “I proudly support small businesses like Kat Vellos’ shop, so I will not give you her paid content for free since that would basically be stealing from a Black-owned, woman-owned business and I don’t do that kind of thing. I highly encourage you to go to her website and buy it yourself because it is affordable, and buying it will make you feel so happy inside.”

✏️ Tips and tricks for printing and assembly:
• Size and pages: Each page measures 11” W x 8.5” H (279.4 mm x 215.9 mm). There are 26 pages in the file and they are intended to be printed double-sided, resulting in 13 pages total.
• Paper Stock: To get a sturdy calendar that you can write on without ink showing through from either the printing or your writing, I recommend printing it double-sided on Uncoated Smooth White 100# Text paper stock. This will give you 13 pages total that are easy to bind since it’s not too thick. 100# Text paper is thicker than regular printer paper so it’s mostly opaque but not quite as stiff as cardstock. An uncoated paper will be the easiest to write on, and this is important if you want to write on your calendar! Coated/glossy/shiny papers tend to smear when you write on them with ink so I don’t recommend that.
• Binding: I recommend having it bound with a wire coil, though many print shops also offer plastic coil. Opt for a small coil in the range of 3/8”-1/2” inches diameter (9.5 mm - 12.7 mm). Or, get crafty and use an awl to punch a straight line of holes, then hand-bind it with embroidery thread, twine, or bendy wire.
• Nail Hole: Have the print shop punch a 1/4-inch (6.3 mm) circle through all the pages along the bottom edge in the middle — this is the edge of the paper opposite from the coil when you’re looking at the closed stack of pages with the front cover on top. This will allow you to hang it on the wall with just a small nail or pushpin. You can also DIY this with a handheld hole-punch if you align every page properly.
